AND THE 2009 WINNER IS...
Kathy Haug
Richmond Public Library
Richmond, CA
Kathy submitted a thought provoking proposal that involves creating a Parent/Child Area for her library. Her goal is to provide a flexible space where parents and young children can access information on the computer together. She is also interested in a space for the parenting and toddler books adjacent to a cozy reading area. Ultimately, she would like her library to take on a more inviting feel rather than the industrial look of “a warehouse with books”.
The response to this year’s $10,000 Room Makeover Contest was fantastic. We had 125 entrants and it was easy to see that many entrants had put a lot of time and thought into their proposals. Each and every proposal was read by members of our staff and there were many deserving and interesting projects out there. Thank you to everyone who entered, we wish you the best of luck on your projects.
For those of you who didn’t enter or would like to try again, stay tuned for next year’s contest!
